Tom is a charming man to deal with and very skilled. I gave him an rough template for an awkward shaped worktop which he made a beautiful job of cutting it to an accuracy of less than a millimetre. He is helpful, straightforward and reliable and makes you feel as though you are dealing with an old mate - I look forward to the opportunity of doing business with him again.

I can’t recommend Tom enough for his quality of work and efficiency. I came in with a template for a hearth and Tom had no issues cutting it.

Here’s a polished review you can post:

I could not be happier with the custom slate hearth Tom made for me at Karrek Stone.

From the first enquiry, Tom was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and practical. He gave clear advice about the template, the thickness of slate, the edge finishing, and what would work best for the space. It felt like a genuinely tailored service rather than just placing an order.

The hearth itself is excellent. The slate is beautiful, the finish is exactly what I wanted, and the fit is absolutely spot on. It was cut precisely to the template, including several awkward and intricate cuts around the fireplace opening, and it literally fits perfectly.

A really professional, helpful and high-quality service from start to finish. I would highly recommend Tom and Karrek Stone to anyone needing a custom stone or slate piece.

No.1 place to purchase stone. I purchased a slate hearth complete with a fairly intricate template and also purchased slate uprights from Karrek Stone. From the moment I met Tom he was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He explained everything to me about the differing slate finishes, the thicknesses etc and what would work best for me. I instructed Tom what I would like & walked around with him viewing the differing slate finishes picking my perfect piece. It only took a few days for each of my orders to be completed and I was really very happy with the results. From price to availability, speed of service and absolute quality I could not ask for more. I could not recommend Tom & Karrek Stone enough and I would not hesitate in using them again.
